[Back] Confined Spaces Courses
The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 came into force on the 28th January 1998 and this course covers the relevant requirements of those Regulations for entry into confined spaces.
It is illegal for a person not to be properly trained in such circumstances and it is also dangerous & potentially fatal. Many companies will not allow Contractors the Permit to Work in a confined space on their premises without evidence of adequate training. (the course can be allocated TWO IOSH CPD points if you are registered with IOSH)
This course includes the above Regulations and the hazards associated with confined spaces, the precautions and procedures, testing and types of equipment and method of testing, purging requirements etc, ventilation procedures, isolation, restricted entry, entry procedures, Emergency procedures and equipment, safe systems of work.
Hazards are included such as explosive hazards, Toxic hazards, Oxygen hazards, Carbon Dioxide hazards, Carbon Monoxide Hazards, Hydrogen Sulphide Hazards etc including safe access and egress and more. This course is designed for Confined Spaces that can be entered without breathing apparatus but does not include the practical use of such apparatus or the practice of rescue but does include when and where these may be needed. Plus supporting videos.
This is an excellent course aimed at operatives and supervisors either entering confined spaces, responsible for persons entering confined spaces or are on standby to offer assistance. The course is concluded with a multi choice test which will form part of the certification of competence.
