This course is specially designed for those persons in the Construction Industry and with no electrical training or experience. It is a basic electrical safety course aimed at capable operatives & supervisors to provide essential safety related legal knowledge and to provide theory training in electrical safety. This course can be allocated TWO IOSH CPD points if you are registered with IOSH.

Reduced voltage safety and related comparisons and the use of SELV, 110 volt and how this is reduced further. Earth bonding in buildings, earth connections, cable hazards in location and correct type. Video on inspection of portable tools etc.
Hazards associated with water and humidity, overhead cable and underground cable hazards with case study and supporting video. Schedule inspection procedure, Periodic inspection report and Electrical installation certification requirements with copies of sample documents.
Case studies as examples and an introduction to the Electricity at Work Regulations, case investigations, electrical defects, identification of fire hazards, safety requirements with generators and portable / temporary lighting on site and lighting levels on site.
