The Fire Awareness course is aimed at all staff to satisfy the legal and essential requirements to ensure staff have a comprehensive awareness of fire safety for their own safety and for the safety of others at work.

This course includes an understanding of the fire triangle, causes and consequences of fires, classification of fires, how fires spread including convection methods, conduction and radiation, the main ways that fire extinguishers can put out a fire and their limitations , fire fighting and limitations, emergency procedures and what action to take and the role of Fire Wardens / Marshalls,

It also includes the awareness of fire risk assessment and fire precautions, fire plans and class evaluation of a plan, detection and alarm systems, good housekeeping, combustible materials and flammable liquids, class exercise, dangerous substances

This course does not include practical use of fire extinguishers, but does include an awareness of the various types and what type of fires they may be used on. An interactive computer animated exercise is included on fire hazard spotting.

The course is supported by DVD movie, individual and groups exercises.
