BCS College was founded in 1979 and was set up in the same year as the National Examinations Board in Occupational Safety and Health. The College specialises in health and safety training with a determination to provide the best possible courses and the best possible service to our customers.

We at BCS College believe that with the best service and best possible training your education will prosper better and you will have more opportunities to progress and feel more likely to be able to aspire to higher levels of education if that is your intention.

BCS College provides high quality courses from the most basic occupational health and safety courses up to the Practitioner level and to the Management level as well as higher than a degree to Post Graduate level.

Courses are carefully designed to integrate structured methods of learning with practical elements and hands on equipment, syndicate work, case studies and good visual aids. All this  to make learning enjoyable and progressive helping your memory to work better and achieve more.

The first priority at BCS College are its students and you will find an unrivaled level of support at your disposal.

All key staff lecturing or Assessing on health and safety courses at BCS College are required to be Chartered with the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health together with other appropriate qualifications and you will find they have many together  with a wide background of experience within the team.

In addition we have a highly trained and well experienced administrative support staff including Clerical Officer support and for example a Course Administrator, Enrolment Officer,  and an Examinations Officer as well as Pastoral Care.

Action

If you need assistance owing to a disability then please ask for the Director of Training.
If you have a disability then please ask to see The Director of Training (or the Course Administrator) and request any assistance you need and also ask for a PEEP (Personal Emergency Escape Plan) to be prepared, if this is necessary in your case.

Monitoring

The internal verification will also monitor equal opportunities  and discrimination so far as is reasonably practicable and classes are subject to audit from time to time.

Feed back forms from candidates attending courses are also evaluated.

Environmental Policy
Statement

BCS College will endeavour to take all necessary action to preserve the natural environment and to preserve/avoid waste and to avoid contamination of the environment and to facilitate and encourage recycling so far as is reasonably practicable. BCS College are committed to continuous improvement.

BCS College will ensure that clear policies and / or procedures are in place to deal with all waste in compliance with legislation and to ensure that waste is separated as appropriate and disposed of properly.

BCS College will actively pursue the use of electronic technology so far as is reasonably practicable to assist in avoiding waste and to reduce the use of paper.

Energy management systems will be maintained as far as reasonably practicable to reduce the use of energy and avoid wasting energy either by electricity or gas.

All staff at BCS College are encouraged to avoiding waste of all kinds and students are encouraged to re-cycle vending cups. BCS College will undertake monitoring to facilitate quality control and continuous improvement.

The Commitment of BCS College to Health & Safety

We believe that an excellent organisation is by definition a safe organisation. Since we are committed to excellence, it follows that minimising risk to people, plant and  products is inseparable from all other objectives of BCS College.

It is the policy of this organisation to give the greatest importance to health and safety at work to all  its employees & to students, candidates, visitors as well as contractors whilst on this organisations premises. It is the responsibility of   Managers and Directors to ensure that this is pursued and it is also their responsibility to ensure that all  employees  are adequately  trained in health  and safety to meet  theses objectives and suitable competent persons are appointed where these are required.

BCS College have produced and will maintain a comprehensive Health and Safety Policy detailing all the organisational arrangements to fulfill the obligations of the company and to meet these objectives and ensure this is communicated to all employees.

The Mission of BCS College is to achieve the highest possible standards in health and safety for the health, safety and welfare of all its employees and others and to work as a team together to be able to achieve these goals by ensuring  adequate financial and physical  resources being  made available  and ensuring the  competence of employees  and by the provision of any necessary expert advice that may be required.
